Very nice looking Cart and wondering if it’s a Ben Cart or is it home-built? The body looks professionally built upon a Harbor Freight trailer frame. Either way it’s exciting to hear of another Hotdogger starting up. I am still putting the finishing touches on my own home-built. I was already more than 60% complete when I ordered Steve’s super plans. I installed the 12 gal grey water tank and made 4 sinks. putting all the plumbing together is taking time with all the fittings and stuff. My goal is to open early Spring if not before. best wishes to your biz.

We invited all our family and neighbors to the test run. This created a lot of good will with the neighbors and provided us with a test run that was not open to the general public. The info provided was a great help on opening day. Hope you have a good time and make money.

Good Luck Steve….
Last night after the Hope and Change has been downsized to “I hope it Might Change”
The dog business is a safe place to be. “This thing of ours” is recession proof. Get out there and work it…discouragement is for sissys.
I’m gearing up and heading to Gobbler’s Knob to sell Hot Dogs to Top Hat wearin Gentleman who predict the weather with a furry little rodent. If he sees his shadow there will be 6 weeks more of the Hot Dog Season!

Hey in PA. Nice cart. It looks like the Big Dog cart from Ben’s Cart. We bought a Big Dog cart from Ben in the Fall. We operated till Dec. 1 then the weather got us. But the cart is a definite money maker. If the cart is steaming you will be counting, money that is, every night.

Nice Cart, I wish you much success. I am trying to get started in the Chicago and surronding suburbs. Are you brand new to this business and if so, Did you have a chance to talk with any one in your area before you made the investment in your cart?
Is there any one out there from the Chicago area that is willing to share information with me.

Hi All! Thanks for the good wishes. To answer some of the questions: We are in Berks County, PA – Reading PA area. Our trial run is with our neighbors and friends on February 20th. If you’re in the area – come by, try our dogs and give us any hints you have!! Yes, it is a Ben’s cart. We love it already, now just can’t wait to get started. As far as getting started in Chicago – good luck! We went to websites first and then to our local county office. As suggested by Steve and Ben we didn’t do ANYTHING until we knew what the requirements were as far as number of sinks etc. Okay, that’s it I think. We’ll update you after our trial run!!

I have the same cart, yes it’s a big dog from ben’s carts. Good luck, its been fun for us and we have not had any trouble with the cart except one riviet came out but that was an easy fix. Remember not to cut the heat up too high, not good for the cart or the doggs. The grill will bring you alot of customers. Just remember to have fun and the money will come. We run all year in the south.

Congrats! Hope you are very prosperous with your new cart. Is your propane inside the cart? If so do you travel with it on the cart? I have been taking my tanks off when travel. Just curious….

Gigi,
Welcome to the club! Good luck. I hope you all the best. The one thing that I say is to have fun. I started last year. I have been under wraps for the winter and I am dying too get back at it. Wish you all the best.
Hey Steve, Haven’t talked to you in a bit How has the winter been for you? I got to tell you that the 101 tax tips and the Cash Tracker was awsome at tax time. Thanks for putting that out there for us. That is the best cash flow package I have ever used. Talk to you later.

Hey Tim,
Thanks for the kind words. It was a ton of work (and expensive) getting the Cash Tracker software built, but based on the feedback I’m getting it was worth it.
Winter has been busy. No down season on the interwebs
Got to keep these stories coming.
Hang in there, spring is right around the corner!

Glad to hear it’s a Ben’s cart. We took our unbrealla to a local sign shop and had our name screened on four sides. I also made a set of plastic curtians that velcros around the bottom of the cart on the burner end to keep high winds from blowing on the underside of our burners. This lets you control your heat better and saves fuel.

Hey Tony, I clicked on your name and it took me to your webpage, but I can’t find any buttons that takes me beyond your front page. Good looking front page though. Stephen, great cart and set up, I wish you nothing but the best. I’m in my third month of operation and since I’m limited at the moment to do it when I can I have two locations on Saturdays, one being the farmers market in my hometown and the other in front of my brother’s store in Temple, Tx. The future looks bright indeed! Good luck and here’s to slinging a lot of hot dogs in 2010!

Esteban,
I have a web designer friend who will be doing the work on my web site. He only put that up just to show me what the logo would look like and will work on it in a couple of weeks after he finishes another project he is working on. It is suppose to contain about 5 pages and I will be able to add things to it, once he shows me what to do.

Tony,
Cool. Love the logo, I think its very important to develop a logo that will distinguish you from the rest, an eye catcher…something to remember you by. That is, until they try your dogs! Then its on like Donkey Kong! Good luck my friend.
