What an exciting contest, Steve. If I’m luckey enough to win, I won’t have to build my own cart! Keep the great ideas and information coming.

  • CindyNo Gravatar

    Steve,

I am so excited about this program. I have used QB before and yes, it can be a real pain!

Kudos to you for your support and efforts!!!

  • Paul ClineNo Gravatar

It has a large amount of static. When can we download this?
I am going the NEW route on all my equipment and supplies. I think that the final tally will be about $1,000. Cheap at half the price. I’ve been watching the DVD’sver and over. It gives me something new each time I watch them. You beat the Perry guy hands down, I’m glad I got out oy that deal without too much expense.
I’m building the cart in my garage, it’s really cold, but have a torpedo heater and that seems to get the temp down to a resasonable temp, without much frostbite.
    Sincerely
    Paul Cline

I also ordered one of those condiment coolers, it looks to be well worth the money, although the price had jumped back up. Probably due to your article.

I wonder how much freedom you’ll have to add additional categories that you want to track. I make my own dogs and sausages and that’s another entire layer of accounting.

  • JimNo Gravatar

That’s awesome Steve, Easy is good !!! They claim Computer’s make life simple, except when you get a program written by a computer geek, and can’t figure out to use the darn thing !!! By the way put me in for that cart Givaway drawing I hope to start up my business early next spring

Some people mentioned that they can’t see the videos.

That’s probably because you don’t have Flash Player installed on your computer.

    It’s free. Get it at:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    -Steve

  • steveNo Gravatar

    Mark,

It’s super easy to add additional categories. We built it with that in mind.

You’ll see that capability in an upcoming video.

  • Tim/Get GrilledNo Gravatar

    Hey Everybody,
I was one of the doggers that was allowed the opportunity to try out Cash Tracker for Steve.

I was amazed at how easy this is to use. It is, like Steve says, as easy as just clicking a button. I will never use another program for my financial records again. Cash Tracker was the best thing that happened to me for my finances. It saves time, that means money. I was able to transfer my entire season, April through October, in about three hours. That includes all my expenses, profit, and travel. I was amazed at how good this is. If you do not already have it, I recommend that you get it. You will not regret it

  • steveNo Gravatar

For those who can’t access the videos, I’ll put together a text based information page with all the details. It should be up soon.

  • steveNo Gravatar

HOW TO ENTER THE FREE HOT DOG CART DRAWING…

Sorry for the caps, I’m not yelling, just wanted to get your attention.

Everyone who purchases an activation code will be automatically entered to win.

Codes will go on sale sometime next week.

You already have access to the full Cash Tracker program so you can try it out before you buy.

Therefore activation codes are non-refundable. Fair enough?

I’m sure there are some folks who don’t really want Cash Tracker, but want to purchase an activation code just to enter the drawing.

That’s fine by me, just remember – no refunds.

The contest entry period will only be a few days long so don’t delay.

    -Steve

  • MikeNo Gravatar

Thanks Steve for text based info….Mike

  • Terry/ The Hot Dog GuyNo Gravatar

    Steve,

This puts my spreadsheet system to shame! It looks great and I can’t wait to test drive it.

  • tenacityNo Gravatar

Wow! Looks and sounds great Steve. I am furiously building the cart ‘The Little Red Wagon’ will be operational soon. Been preapproved by the county and still need insurance and HOT DOGS!

  • RogerNo Gravatar

    Steve,
The hat is off to you and your wife on this one. This is a help to everyone. As you know my primary concession is the coffee cart on a 3- wheeler with the homemade HD cart in tow. I have not launched the hot Dog side of it yet but regardless of HD’s or esspresso shots; the CashTraker does the same job. Can the user delete or add product names? I have the download so I’ll see if I can in the Test base. Looks great!

  • Big D's Dog HouseNo Gravatar

Well Steve It Looks like you have done it again !!!
You have made my life smoother and my wife happy, as she does the books. This is what every new dogger needs. This past year was my first and this will give us a better idea of where we stand and where we need to cut cost at Thank you so much for all the hard work you do for us. Dwain

  • troyNo Gravatar

how are you going to draw the winner? how does the contest work ?

  • TROYNo Gravatar

how is the winner going to be picked ? what size is the cart ? and also how much is the cash tracker going to be ? looks and works awsome i will buy it .

  • steveNo Gravatar

    Troy,

When you purchase an activation code, you will be automatically entered in the drawing.

The drawing will be conducted by Random.org, an organization who specializes in independent contest drawings.

If you want to check them out, go to http://www.random.org/draws/

    Steve,
I am using the system and like it. I have a question about EXPENSE TYPES. There is a canned list with chips, sodas, condiments, etc.
My question is, can you or the user type in and add other products like coffee or “other”?

This would help those of us who have some non-taxable products. Please consider adding an “OTHER” box so that the user can enter another product. This would also expand the program to other business $$$$!!!. Thanks again.

  • DanikaNo Gravatar

I am excited about Cash Tracker. I am just about to start up in the field, I have all my Corporate books done, but I have been stumped as to what to do with all the expenses and receipts. This came out just in time, as I was considering Quick Books and training software for Quick books as just the demo was so hard to understand. This program looks easy, and if it’s anywhere near Steve’s book carts of cash that is user friendly and easy to understand, then I can say that Cash tracker will be just as great as his other products. Most items say they are for dummies or very user friendly, but then you open it up and it’s still difficult to understand, well Steve’s products are truly easy for the beginner to understand. And I don’t mind taking the time to talk about a product that I know I truly believe in. I know you can’t go wrong with this program, so with that said, I am going to be getting mine right now.

  • steveNo Gravatar

    Roger Dog,

Yes, you can add anything you want to Cash Tracker, whether it be expense types, income sources, etc.

It is easy to do. I made a full tutorial video which will show you how.

You can download for free at:

    http://www.hotdogcashtacker.com/tutorial.zip

  • Bob AbrahamNo Gravatar

    Steve,

You have done it again! Carts of Cash, E-Z Built Hotdog Cart, Leasing information, the list goes on and on …….Now software to run your cart business. I am in the process of writing a business plan. I am planning to start up in the Spring.
This software will help tremendously. Many thanks!

  • steveNo Gravatar

RUN TIME ERROR – EASY FIX.

Some Windows Vista users are getting a run time error message when they try to open the program.

You just need to set Cash Tracker to run in “compatability mode”.

    It’s easy – here’s how:

    http://www.hotdogcashtracker.com/vista_instructions.pdf

  • MarkNo Gravatar

Another reason why you are the MAN – The hotdog man that is… Thanks,

  • RogerDogNo Gravatar

While I was unable to open the tutorial, I have figured out how to enter, set-up and delete all contained within the upper tabs: PREFERENCES.
My CashTracker is now all set up with my personal preferences…once I stumbled upon it-it was easy. I really like the daily planner and activities tabs too. They allow me to plan the day and remember who, what, where and when. Then, not to mention the super REPORTS feature which allows me to print out anything I want to see! Yah mon…ees good.

  • Jim LesterNo Gravatar

What the cost for the code? Also how do I download the program

  • PhilNo Gravatar

It looks great but the only thing I can’t figure out is when you get income it has to go into an account or petty cash, the same goes for expenses I can’t figure out how to add a petty cash to the business account or credit card. Other than that looks easy.

  • steveNo Gravatar

    Phil,

I never used a petty cash account, but it would be easy to add it under the Income or Expense categories.

Steve My wife wants to know if the program will run on windows 7 or other new systems and if there will be updates to make the program work on future operating systems?

  • AJ RamosNo Gravatar

I have window vista (which I hate) I wasn’t able to open the program so I right clicked the icon and clicked on “run as administrator” and it has been working since.
Steve, what is the price for the code, I know you haven’t told us yet but I think everyone is so excited about the software and we’re just curious.
    Thanks
    AJ

  • steveNo Gravatar

    WINDOWS VISTA USERS…

If you can’t open the software, try this:

Right click the icon and choose “run as administrator”

    Thanks AJ!

WHAT’S THE PRICE? WHEN CAN I GET IT?

    It will be under $100.

I wasn’t planning on opening the doors until Thursday, because I wanted to get all my videos and bonuses finished and available to you so you could make an educated decision.

I’ve got a lot more free info for you…

However, it appears that a lot of you are ready to buy right now.

If you are ready now, let me know here in the comments. If the response is good, I’ll open it up early.

Steve I want to thank you for all the help you offer the people who are in the industry or like me, planning on getting into the Hot Dog Business. My cart is being built right now and I am ready to purchase the Cash Tracker Program.

    Thank You!!!

  • KevinNo Gravatar

Is the software PC only? I’m guessing it is not available for mac.

  • clarkNo Gravatar

i really like it seems to make things a lot easier but how about the taxes to be taken out from the employees you have hired to work for you i see it well total his check for that but i dident see where it took out the fed taxes or ss of state taxes. or did i miss that. i still love the way it well save me a lot of time on every thing else.

  • steveNo Gravatar

    Kevin,

Cash Tracker is built for PCs, but Macs can run Windows if you use a program like Parallels.

    http://www.parallels.com

I work on Macs exclusively, but I have Windows running with the Parallels software.

I can run Windows and Mac OSX at the same time on the same desktop.

I’m running Cash Tracker on my Mac this way. It works great!

    Here are some other options:

You can use “Virtual PC” to convert PC-software to become Mac-compatible–
    http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/virtualpc/virtualpc.aspx?pid=virtualpc

You can use Windows Emulators for MAC:
You have a number of options…here are a few web sites you can look at….

  • steveNo Gravatar

    Clark,

Cash Tracker does not take out payroll taxes. Sorry, you’ll have to do that yourself, but it will be a lot faster with Cash Tracker giving you the totals.

    Steve,

With every contact I have had with you until now, whether it be on this website or the telephone, you have always related to me with honor and respect. I want to thank you for the DVD set after the difficulty I encountered with the postal service.
Count me in. As soon as this activation code is available for purchase I will get it, and winning the new cart would be a real blessing, also.

As you know, I haven’t even started my business yet, but now I think that I am THAT much more ahead of the game for when I cook that FIRST hot dog.
    Thanks again for everything.

    George

  • George KNo Gravatar

WOW! As I was watching the downloaded tutorial, it suddenly occurred to me that I will NOW be able to enter all of the items from the hot dog parts list as business expenses so even THEY can be a deduction.
This is getting better and better!
    Thanks again Steve.

  • steveNo Gravatar

I just got off the phone with Ben Wilson of Ben’s Hot Dog Carts. Ben is the super generous guy who is donating the cart for this contest.

Ben just gave me all the details about the giveaway cart. Super exciting stuff!

I’ll have the interview ready for you this evening, and you’ll be able to purchase your activation code (and enter the giveaway) at that time.

I’ll email you when it’s live.

I’ve got my activation code, and a great working copy of Cash Tracker. I just saw the interview video with Ben of Ben’s Carts, and the “Cash Cow” is quite impressive. C’mon everyone, get your activation codes now!

I’ve been using the program for about a month now and even had a Hard Drive Crash so we had to restore from back up!

The restore went great and all my data was recovered!

Steve if you were as cute as my wife I would kiss you!

  • LarryNo Gravatar

Got my activation code. Everything is working great!!! Thanks for covering the shipping costs. Truly a great opportunity.

  • steveNo Gravatar

    Paul,

If I were as cute as your wife I wouldn’t be selling software ;-)

    -Steve

  • MarkNo Gravatar

Will you be shipping us a disk after we get the activation code. A disk with cashtracker on it?

  • steveNo Gravatar

    Mark,

No disc. You can download the full version of Cash Tracker right now for free at http://www.HotDogCashTracker.com.

There is a big orange button about halfway down the page that says “Get Cash Tracker”. It comes with a 5 day free trial.

If you like it you can purchase an activation code which lets you use it beyond the 5 day trial. That purchase automatically enters you into the contest for the free hot dog cart.

    -Steve

  • MarkNo Gravatar

Thanks Steve. Man you are really responsive. I just typed my last message a minute ago.

  • BillNo Gravatar

Steve, I submitted a question but it seems to have vanished. I’ll try again. If I purchase the activation code, will the same code work if I have to switch/upgrade computers or have to restore an existing computer due to a crash?

  • steveNo Gravatar

    Bill,

Yes, the software should recognize your unique code, but if it doesn’t, just email me and I’ll send you a new code.

We keep records of all purchases and we’ll be able to verify you as a Cash Tracker user.

    -Steve

  • George V KovachNo Gravatar

    Hi Steve,

I just refused to sign the receipt for the second EZbuild DVD kit you sent out and told the deliverer to return it to you. My apartment manager called me the other day and said they found the original one that you first sent me!

Also, since I haven’t even started building my cart yet, I just finished personalizing my Cash Tracker by adding category “Cart Construction Materials” in Business Expenses and Contacts. Then I entered and priced everything on the parts list under that category, with prices and purchase locations. For each entry I dated 1/1/09, meaning that it has not yet been purchased. As I buy each item on the parts list, I will change the date to reflect the purchase date. I also entered all vendors’ information under a new contacts category also called “Cart Construction Materials”.

Finally, I have also entered the EZbuild DVD set, as well as Cash Tracker, in the same business expense category as above.

Still keepin the ole fingers crossed on the contest!

    Thanks, Steve.

    George
