The E-Z Built plans are designed to be adaptable.
Case in point: Darren found a used utility trailer cheap and although it wasn’t exactly the size specified in the plans, it worked out just fine.
I’ll let Darren tell you about his E-Z Built hot dog cart in his own words…
“Good morning, Steve! I’m on top of the world and heaving a couple of well-earned sighs of personal satisfaction this fine Monday morning!
Enclosed find a few pictures of my beautiful and much-loved EZ-Built cart just a few minutes after absolutely SAILING through my Health Inspection this morning.
The Health Officer was so enthralled by the fact I had built my own cart and had more questions about the construction than anything else. What a great way to break the ice! I received a special citation on my Pass report commenting on how well thought-out, organized, and constructed the cart was.
Prior to ordering your video my sum total building experience consisted of bolting together IKEA furniture so believe me when I tell you that if I can do this, ANYONE can do this.
Steve, I don’t know how to thank you for publishing both Carts of Cash and the EZ-Built video. My J.O.B. had been going rough for some time to the point I was left unemployed last Monday morning. Because I found your website, as of today I am in control of my own future and I never have to be afraid of unemployment ever again. Without your information, running my own business (particularly a business feeding people which is what I truly love) would have been forever beyond my reach. As it stands I now have everything I need and I don’t even have the worry of making a monthly nut because I own it outright.
I am now on my way with my new photos and Pass report in hand to visit the Parks & Rec department for permission to work the public parks and sports fields and also to visit the proprietor of what I believe to be the prime lunchtime location in town. I will keep you posted.
Many thanks again, my friend! Darren”
Super job Darren!

Super Job Darren It looks Like A Professional Built it. The best part is that you can do all the maintenance yourself. No more out of packet repair ( except for parts) for you. Start Making Money.
Go Doggin’

Is the cart really that easy to build?
I’m not exactly a master mechanic, but I can do general toolwork and can follow instructions.
Any feedback from other builders would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for all of the nice comments, folks. I’m having a ball!
The cart REALLY is that esay to build. I didn’t have experience, skill, tools, or even a proper bench/shop/garage. The whole thing was built on two sawhorses in my driveway with all the pieces being cut freehand using a 20 year-old hand-me-down jigsaw hanging over the edge of my front stoop. The whole thing took about 50 hours not including the weekend my lovely and patient wife spent putting on 5 coats of exterior enamel (a great paint job goes a long way towards offsetting mediocre carpentry). Anyone with any degree of experience or resources could do just that much better of a job.
In the end not only did I gain an incredible amount of self-confidence, but I’ve got a sharp-looking, self contained, functional and professional cart with the size and capacity of a WillyDog Hummer or All-American Hot Dogger for about 20% of the cost.
Go for it!

I just heard from Nancy in Colorado. Her E-Z Built passed inspection this morning, no problem.
Congrats Nancy!

Hey Darren, Great Cart! I am excited for you. I am almost finished with mine and I know that feeling of accomplishment you are having. I am going for my inspections next week so wish me luck. I had to have a three bay sink and a hand washing sink. It turned out pretty good, thanks to steve and the EZ Built Hot Dog Cart Video program. Thanks Steve, and the rest of you for your inspiration.

Darren, I like what you did with your cart. Especilly, the side table and the grill hook-up.
Can you tell me where you purchsed your grill?
I really like the set-up. Good luck to you.
Thanks,
